Vancouver electro-pop duo Purity Ring have quickly become one of the biggest buzz bands of the year. They just released “Fineshrine,” the fourth song released from their upcoming debut album, Shrines.
“Fineshrine” immediately brings to mind Sleigh Bells. Singer Megan James sounds a bit more fragile and carefree than Sleigh Bells’ Alexis Krauss, but Corin Roddick — who handles the insrumentals for Purity Ring — sets up a rhythm that comes close to a hip-hop version of some of Sleigh Bells’ slower songs.
Shrine is out July 24 on 4AD/Last Gang. Listen to “Fineshrine” below and hear “Obedear,” another song off the album, after the jump.
