The tracks from Hear Music/Concord‘s upcoming Just Tell Me That You Want Me: Tribute to Fleetwood Mac have been rolling in. We’ve already heard the New Pornographers take on “Think About Me” and Best Coast tackle “Rhiannon,” and now three more tracks are online.
MGMT make “Future Games,” from Bob Welch-era Fleetwood Mac, sufficiently weird. The robot vocals and sparse synths sound a lot like the Flaming Lips’ Dark Side of the Moon cover album. “Future Games” is a bigger reach, though, because Dark Side was already a little out there.
Antony covers “Landslide,” a Stevie Nicks-penned song from 1975′s Fleetwood Mac. His take is beautifully straight forward, carried mostly by the strength of his vocals.
Lykke Li also takes on a Stevie Nicks song, but a much less familiar one. She covers “Silver Springs,” which was intended for Rumours. It was only released as the b-side to “Go Your Own Way” until it was featured on the live album The Dance in 1997.
Check out all three tracks below. Just Tell Me That You Want Me: Tribute to Fleetwood Mac is out August 14.
