Avec Sans came on our radar with a great cover of Bon Iver’s “Perth.” Now, the London duo has released a new single, “Heartbreak Hi,” their first original song.
“Heartbreak Hi” is built around intricate synth loops and beats, and singer Alice Fox takes the chorus to anthemic heights. “Hello heartbreak hi, you’re always at my side” will be stuck in your head indefinitely.
Fox and her counterpart Jack St. James arguably outdo their Bon Iver cover. “Heartbreak Hi” is perfect synthpop.
