The SoundCloud playlist for Hear Music/Concord’s upcoming Just Tell Me That You Want Me: Tribute to Fleetwood Mac looks a bit more complete almost every day. We’ve already heard The New Pornographers cover “Think About Me,” Best Coast do “Rhiannon,” Lykki Li cover “Silver Springs,” MGMT’s version of “Future Games,” Lee Ranaldo Band and J. Mascis take on “Albatross,” Antony cover “Landslide,” and “Gold Dust Woman” by Karen Elson.
The label just released two more: Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy and Matt Sweeney’s cover of “Storms” and the Kills’ version of “Dreams.”
Matt Sweeney and Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy stripped down “Storms,” from 1979′s Tusk. The pair replaced Stevie Nicks’ distinct voice with Crosby Stills & Nash-style harmonies.
The Kills strip down the Rumours classic “Dreams” in a very different way. Their take is minimal, but built around raw energy. The electric guitars and singer Alison Mosshart’s howl are the complete opposite of Sweeney and Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy’s acoustic cover.
Stream “Storms” below and check out “Dreams” on Nowness.
Update: Stream the Kills’ version of “Dreams” below via SoundCloud.
