Ben Gibbard recently announced Former Lives, his debut solo album — which isn’t exactly his debut if you count his ¡All-Time Quarterback! output.
We haven’t heard anything from Former Lives, but Gibbard just released a new one-off track, “Ichiro’s Theme.” If you’re not a baseball fan, Gibbard’s favorites the Seattle Mariners just traded Ichiro Suzuki to the Yankees.
On his SoundCloud page, Gibbard said, “I wrote this a few years ago. Today seems like the best day to let you all hear it. Thank you, Ichiro.”
