We previously reported on Sweet Valley — Wavves frontman Nathan Williams’ new project with his brother Joel, aka Kynan. As promised, the duo’s upcoming mixtape, Stay Calm, is shaping up to be the perfect summer jam.
They just released another song, “Malibu Games,” that captures a chilled-out beach vibe. Its built around a nostalgic surf sample. Every so often, the hip-hop beat stops and the sample sends you back to the ’50s sun and sand. But the lapses are brief, and the brothers pull you right back with another beat.
