Jesse Kivel has something like four active bands right now. He’s in Princeton, Sleeping Bags and Funky Walkman with his twin brother Matt and he’s half of Kisses.
Kivel and his other half, his girlfriend Zinzi Edmundson, made their debut as Kisses in 2010 with The Heart of the Nightlife. The duo just released a new song, “Funny Heartbeat,” which features production from Tim Larcombe and Saint Etienne‘s Pete Wiggs.
“Funny Heartbeat” has bigger dancefloor production than anything on The Heart of the Nightlife. Kivel takes the lead, but he and Edumdson duet on the chorus, which shimmers unsurprisingly like Saint Etienne.
The new single is a welcome return from the duo. Hopefully, more is on the way.
