Flying Lotus just released the first cut off his new album, Until the Quiet Comes. The new single, “See Thru to U,” features guest vocals from Erykah Badu.
Tornado basslines blow through the drums, bouncing between stereo channels, but FlyLo’s jazz is perfectly controlled. It’s reined in even further by Badu’s short, smooth lines.
The pairing is perfect, and Until the Quiet Comes promises much more, with guest appearances by Niki Randa, Laura Darlington, Thundercat and Thom Yorke. It comes out October 2 via Warp.
