Canadian label Paper Bag Records has been releasing pretty interesting cover compilations over the years. After their initial one, Seven Year Itch, they released a track-by-track cover of Madonna’s True Blue. Now they’ve released another full-album tribute, Paper Bag Records vs. The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars.
The free download features renditions from David Bowie’s classic album by bands like Born Ruffians and PS I Love You. One of our favorites is the Rural Alberta Advantage’s take on “Starman.”
