Das Racist‘s Himanshu Suri, aka Heems, is releasing his second mixtape of the year. The rapper put out his first solo effort, Nehru Jackets, in January and he’s following it up with Wild Water Kingdom.
Producer Yorrissey of BLKHRTS chopped up Echo & the Bunnymen’s “The Killing Moon” to create the beat for “Killing Time,” the first track released from the mixtape. Add it to the list of Das Racist-related songs that cleverly rework classic songs like Billy Joel’s “Movin’ Out” and Kate Bush’s “Suspended in Gaffa.”
Heems doesn’t miss a beat either, laying down some of his strongest verses.
Wild Water Kingdom will be out this fall.
